Sportswire 4000 has fed out-of-town scores and live data to Daktronics boards for two decades, and plenty of venues are now shopping for what comes next as older modules hit end-of-life. I run ribbon boards at a Power Four stadium every Saturday; we built one of the tools on this list. First, decide what you actually need
Sportswire 4000 does two different jobs, and the alternatives split along that line: some replace the data feed (raw scores and stats streamed into templates you build and an operator drives), and some replace the finished content (the board pages themselves, produced and updated for you). Know which job you're hiring for before comparing.
Daktronics Data Studio
Daktronics' modern data-management layer, and the path Daktronics support will point you to. It manages automated sport-statistics feeds and routes them natively to Venus Control Suite and display controllers, replacing aging Sportswire modules with supported equivalents. Choose it if you want to stay fully inside the Daktronics ecosystem with vendor support, and you're comfortable keeping the same fundamental model: per-sport data packages, template mapping, and an operator who owns the workflow.
GameSlate (that's us)

Data-integration products that ingest live sports stats and output via SDI or IP into switchers and scoreboard graphics channels. Similar decision profile to Sportzcast: it moves data into your production chain; presentation remains your build. Choose it if you need stats in the video path and have engineering comfort with SDI/IP routing.
